NAET is a non-invasive, therapy for treating allergies and other sensitivities.

When a virus attacks, toxins are released into the body, which in turn triggers the immune response or "defense mechanism".  The struggle to rid the body of the invading virus and its toxins is evidenced by the symptoms of illness, including fever, coughing, aches, nausea, and fatique.  Untreated, the symptoms persist or increase with potential serious consequences.

Similarly, continuous contact with allergens also produces toxins and immune responses. For example:

  • respiratory problems like bronchitis, pneumonia, and asthma

  • circulatory problems such as chest pain, poor circulation, irregular heartbeat

  • gastrointestinal problems like indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea and ulcers

  • genitourinary problems such as kidney and bladder infections, prostate troubles, PMS, post-menstrual disorders, impotency, infertility

  • musculoskeletal problems like general aches and pains, headaches, backaches, arthritis

  • brain symptoms such as depression, ADD, hyperactivity, learning disorders

  • skin problems including eczema, boils, and slow-healing wounds

Environmental toxins and substances may also produce reactions, including chemical sensitivity, allergic reaction to pollens, perfumes, animal dander, dust carpets, and fumes from building materials.  Allergic reactions rather than disease cause many health conditions.

In their mildest forms, allergic reactions may be barely noticeable or merely a nuisance.  However, some people experience major symptoms because their bodys inability to tolerate the toxins introduced into the body.  The physical symptoms may manifest as though the patient had take a poison.

Because symptoms are similar for certain allergic responses and poisons, diagnosis may be difficult.  The milder the symptoms, the harder it is to diagnose the condition and therefore, the harder it is for the patient to get good treatment.  Physicians have difficulty diagnosing such common, though vague complaints such as "not feeling quite right".  Some patients have seen their physicians so many times, or have seen so many different practitioners without relief that their complaints are ignored or they are considered hypochondriacs.
